I am not stoked on starting college tomorrow.
I don’t drive, have classes in Tacoma AND Gig Harbor, and have to bus it which is going to be a mess. I have to leave my house at 10 and not get back until 7. At least my tuition is paid for.

The other night at the Power tour kickoff show someone told me that watching my band reminds them why they play music, and that our set was the best show they have seen in a long time. This person is someone who is a lot older than anyone in this band and has been playing music a lot longer. Things like this make me feel really good about music, and bummed that Undefined is probably not going to be a band anymore. But we’ll see what happens. I don’t know where I’d be if I hadn’t started going to hardcore/punk shows. I’d be in a very different place. Undefined’s last show (at least with Sarah as our vocalist) is going to be on October 12 at The Red Room in Tacoma with Cowardice (I Am Depression record release), Code Red, Losing Skin, and Olde Ghost. Come listen to the new Cowardice jams. Seeing that band for the first time a few years ago is a big part of why I’m into hardcore music.

The show tonight was awesome. If you care about The Redroom and weren’t there, for one you missed out, and two, I’d like you to think long and hard about what that place means to you. It’s awesome to see a bunch of different people can stand in a room and watch a bunch of bands that all sound different. It just goes to show that we all come out to shows for the same reasons. It doesn’t matter if your band is hardcore, metal, indie, pop, or any other genre. To me that’s that Red Room is all about. It’s not necessarily about hardcore or even punk for that matter. Obviously Red Room feels like a hardcore/punk venue. But to me It’s about creating a place where people and music/art can thrive and be appreciated. Please continue to support all ages and DIY music everywhere, but especially at Red Room. That place has had and will hopefully continue to have a huge impact on my life. These are just my opinions. Nights like tonight get me really excited about going to shows and being in a band. Check out and support Deny Us Our Throne, Honorable Mention, Safe and Sound, Navigator, Illuminator, and Redeem the Exile.

RE:SOUND OPEN STAGE NIGHT
RE:SOUND (series of monthly open stage events) at Red Room. It’s free and open to all ages and music styles.
There will be a backline provided of guitar and bass amps, as well as a drum set- just bring what you need to play. Full band, solo acts, spoken word, comedy, alm…ost any type of performance is welcome.
This isn’t just an open mic but an open stage. When you sign up you will get 5 minutes of time to do what you would like. After you are done you can sign up for another 5 minutes, if you would like.
Please pass this on to anyone you know who might be interested in participating or just coming to check out the free entertainment, all in the name of building a strong local community and supporting those who help make it possible!
